Crescent Head is a sleepy beach-side community 446km north of Sydney, in New South Wales, Australia in Kempsey Shire. With a permanent population of 1180 people its major industries include tourism and fishing. Crescent Head is hemmed on the south by Goolawah Reserve and Limeburners Creek Nature Reserve. The nature reserves protect spectacular rock formations, beautiful beaches, heathlands and wetlands. Keep an eye out for sea eagles, echidnas, kangaroos and numerous small birds. North lies Hathead National Park which stretches all the way to South West Rocks. |

Renowned as a great surfing beach Crescent Head also offers rock and beach fishing, swimming and spectacular nature walks. For the sporting enthusiast there's a unique 6 hole waterfront golf course, tennis courts, bowling greens and a swimming pool. Entertainment is provided at the Country Club and the Tavern and there is a good selection of restaurants, cafes and shops. Arts & Crafts are also a feature in this area, with Jann Kesby pottery, artist Gordon Rossiter, and artist Les Graham. |
